I will disagree with this statement - smothering (subconsciousness) remembers and I know much more, than (consciousness). After all the soul was born many times, it had many bodies and many lives. And I am inseparable from the body and from this life. If the body dies, the soul remains, but it already will be not I (the consciousness will die together with a body), and set of my former embodiments.

However, it is assumptions all only. The true is not known by anybody. And it is possible, that at all there is no soul... But it would be desirable to trust.
